I personally think that if you find that lightzone works to your liking then it's worth the price. I use it once in a while when I have a tough picture that I can't seem to get correct with DPP or have the energy to fiddle with lightroom. Now I have a dslr with raw and find the speed of the program to be frustrating. It works wonderfully and can achieve some great results without playing around with individual sliders. I have Lightzone and used it extensively when I shot jpg with a 6 mega pixel point and shoot camera. Then came this discussion which seemed to be about LightRoom.ĭeezle your last post refers to both LightRoom and Light Zone. The original responses were in regard to that program. My original query had to do with Light Zone. I like Lightzone, but if I had that program I would still need Photoshop to perform the advanced corrections required for what I do.Īfter reading these last three posts I can't help but wonder if everyone is talking about the same thing. Since we are an advertising agency, we are dependent on Photoshop to put together our compositions. We will do basic image corrections and enhancements in Lightroom before we export into photoshop. We have seven designers at my studio utilizing Lightroom for our in-house stock photography. I happen to like it's catalog system and image enhancement tools. What I did say is that I disagree that it's all sizzle (advertising) and no steak (features). I never said it has anything over other apps. It's an excellent product for my workflow. I happen to disagree that all LIghtroom has is great advertising. My first thought is that this is the holidaze and it's pretty slow around here the last few days.

Now to decide whether to purchase LightZone when this trial is over. Reply by Uwe was something like, 'we just put it here what happens isn't up to us'. One user even commented on that fact just a few days ago. Used to be used quite a lot a few years ago. If you look around no one seems to be using their forum. Mike, you're right, the discount is still there until Dec '09.įunny thing with that website.

It was pushed there for quite some time and you may still find a link to get 10% off. Now to decide whether to purchase LightZone when this trial isĬonsidering that yours was the only response to my query it sort of makes me wonder about it's usefulness altho the trial seems fairly good at correcting some very underexposed shots I got when my flash malfunctioned.Ĭheck out Outback Photo. I don't know but at least we have that sorted out.

Hmmm, just wondering, do you work for or market Overflow?

lightzone workflow

I like LightZone and it has a welcome place on the hard drive and in my Overflow launcher! Capture One has a little better demosaicing engine but it's the best of the best so nothing really beats it. Feature and workflow wise IMHO it blows LR2.2 out of the water but then again all LR2.2 really has is great advertising. that one would normally wish to do in photography and it's very fast. It's great! You can achieve every edit and effect possible in CS4 PhotoShop, LightRoom 2.2, Capture One Pro, and etc. Wondered if any of you have ever used it and if so what is your opinion? Just read about this program called lightzone.
